Liputan6.com, Jakarta Team Europe successfully registered its name as the 2025 Ryder Cup champion, defeating Team USA in golf’s most prestigious team event with a tight 15-13 final score.
The 45th edition of the tournament took place over three dramatic days, from September 26th to 28th, 2025.
The venue was the notoriously challenging Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, USA.
Shane Lowry, who received a lot of boos from the New York crowd, was the decisive factor for the European team.
He holed a 6-foot birdie hole against Russell Henley to earn the half-point needed for Europe to retain the 45-centimeter gold trophy.
He couldn’t contain himself, pumping his fists and spinning around the green and squeezing every teammate he could find. He recalled telling his caddie as they walked up the 18th fairway, “I have a chance to do the coolest thing in my life here.”
“The Ryder Cup means everything to me,” Lowry said.

Team Europe maintained their early lead all the way to the finish line.
Although Team USA tried hard to close the gap, especially on the final day, their efforts were not enough.
The final score of 15-13 marked a significant milestone in the Ryder Cup rivalry.
It also marked Team Europe’s success on American soil, adding to their list of achievements on the global golf scene.
Europe has won 11 times in the last 14 Ryder Cups, and this was its fifth time winning on U.S. soil in the last 10 tries.
“They’ll be talking about this team for a long time,” Luke Donald said after joining Tony Jacklin (1985 and 1987) as the only European captains to win back-to-back.
“Shoutout to the Americans,” Donald said, his players draped in flags of their home countries.
“We knew they’d be tough. I didn’t think they would be this tough on Sunday. They fought so hard, and all the respect to them.”
