The Muppet Show: Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen Star in Returning Sketch Comedy Show

This special of The Muppet Show was filled with entertaining and innovative sketches, while maintaining the Muppet’s signature style.

One highlight was Rizzo the Rat’s performance of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” giving the show a modern twist.

Another noteworthy sketch was the “Pigs in Wigs” segment, inspired by the popular Bridgerton series, blending Muppet humor with current pop culture references.

Iconic characters like Statler and Waldorf, two veteran critics, also returned with their usual snarky and incisive commentary.

Kermit the Frog, as host, patiently dealt with the chaos created by the other Muppets.

The seasoned Muppet cast, including Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel, breathe life into these beloved characters.

Dave Goelz, in particular, reprised most of the roles he created during the show’s original run from 1976 to 1981.

This special of The Muppet Show starring Sabrina Carpenter received widespread critical acclaim from critics and fans alike.

Many described it as “unabashedly nostalgic” and “absolutely glorious,” highlighting the show’s success in evoking fond memories of the past.

Some reviews noted that, despite its faithfulness to the original, some jokes might feel flat or stale to modern audiences.
