This time was chosen to effectively reach a global audience, allowing fans from across time zones to join in the festivities.
The chosen location is the Peacock Theater, a prestigious venue in Los Angeles that frequently hosts major events.
The event will be streamed live across leading digital channels. Viewers can access the broadcast via Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Twitch.

Nominations and Award Categories Highlights
The Game Awards 2025 nominations were announced on November 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET, during a special broadcast also hosted by Geoff Keighley.
This year, the awards categories include nearly 30, recognizing various aspects of excellence in the gaming industry.
From Best Game Direction to Best Mobile Game, each category highlights exceptional talent and innovation.
Some of the key categories highlighted at The Game Awards include Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best Score & Music.
Additionally, there are awards for Best Performance, Best Independent Game, and Best Action Game.
The Game Awards nominees are selected by a global jury of over 150 media and creator outlets from around the world, including Variety.
From now until December 10 at 6:00 PM Pacific Time, fans can choose winners in all categories through authenticated online voting at www.thegameawards.com.
In China, fans can vote on various platforms, including Bilibili.
Fan votes will be counted in the overall results, alongside the jury’s final selections.
Most Nominated Games and GOTY Nominees
This year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 made history as the game with the most nominations, reaching 12.
This achievement places it as one of the strongest contenders in various categories at The Game Awards.
Other games dominating the nominations list include Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei, each with 8 nominations, as well as Hades 2 (6 nominations) and Hollow Knight (5 nominations).
The Game of the Year (GOTY) category is always a highlight and the most prestigious award.
