American Music Awards 2026: Everything You Need to Know Before the Premiere

The 52nd American Music Awards nominations were announced on April 14, 2026.

Taylor Swift led the pack with eight nominations, including major categories like Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.

They were followed by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr, who each received seven nominations.

Alex Warren and Lady Gaga also received six nominations.

Olivia Dean and Sombr made an impressive mark as first-time nominees with seven nominations, competing in key categories like New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Breakthrough Album of the Year.

Other first-time nominees include Alex Warren, BigXthaPlug, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, RAYE, Role Model, SIENNA SPIRO, and Tate McRae.

Teyana Taylor is also a first-time nominee for Best Female R&B Artist.

This year, the AMAs introduced twelve new categories.

These new categories include Breakout Tour, Breakthrough Album of the Year, Best Throwback Song, Best Vocal Performance, Song of the Summer, Breakthrough Pop Artist, Breakthrough Country Artist, Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist, Breakthrough R&B Artist, Breakthrough Latin Artist, Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist, and Best Americana/Folk Artist.
